The Future of blogs?

You know that blogs (web logs) have entered popular culture when news talk show hosts throw terms around like “blogosphere.” During the 2004 election, a lot of attention was given to political blog post writing. Corporations now have blogs as well as news organizations.

But where did blogs come from? Where are they going?

In the ancient days of the Internet (not yet the Web), communication between people was accomplished through the use of bulletin boards. You could post a note online and wait for an answer. Your Business Name and your Domain Name(s)

Over the past few years a successful trend has emerged by using targeted keywords within domain names by link building services. The reason for switching business names to these targeted keywords has been justified and related to the relevance of the web site to the keywords.

When looking up the keywords “work at home income streams” at the Overture Suggestion tool, for the month of December 2004 there were ZERO users searching for that exact keyword phrase. Also these longer domain names carry no branding for customers to recommend, let alone remember a domain name that long. Continue reading
